The NWC Origin Story


NWC is led by Natasha Watson, a Sr. Communications Consultant with over 22 years of both agency and client-side experience helping brands with internal and external communications needs. 

After years of working within top agencies and organizations, Ms. Watson decided to branch out on her own as a freelance communication consultant to allow for greater flexibility to better meet the needs of organizations. 

Whether it is to augment in-house capabilities, bring in an outside perspective, drive new strategy, or meet campaign timelines, Natasha Watson through NWC brings her qualifications and experience, and offers the right level of expertise to meet and exceed client expectations.

What makes NWC different?

Founded by a seasoned professional in PR and Communications, with experience working in agencies, client-side, and freelance, NWC truly understands the unique needs of each client and offers a diverse set of skills to meet those needs.

Although Ms. Watson is passionate about writing and editing, she also excels in the business side of the industry as well. She has worked with organizations to develop new HR processes, policies, and evaluation programs; she has developed and executed training programs, developed new business pitches, created new strategies, and driven creative direction and ideation; and she has worked with media at all levels, from message development to media relations and media training, through to issue/crisis management, and even acting as a brand spokesperson.

Background

Who is Natasha Watson

A creative and curious individual, Natasha has always had a drive to explore and learn; something that has contributed greatly to her success.

Originally educated in the Funeral Service industry to follow in her family’s footsteps, it wasn’t long before she pivoted to pursue her passion for communications. After 4 years, Natasha became a proud York University grad and completed an Honours BA in Mass Communications and Spanish, before holding progressive positions in the communications industry.

A true Torontonian, Natasha was born and raised in the city, but she has also travelled extensively for both work and leisure, allowing her to pursue her curiosity and broaden her perspective on life and consumer behaviour.

Her hard-working spirit and drive for excellence are present not only in her work, but also in her personal pursuits. An athlete in many respects, Natasha has excelled in several areas over the years including tennis, running, and dragon boat racing. She has also taken part in – and won – several team-based scavenger hunt race competitions in Toronto.
